Liberation of Leningrad. Memorial evening on the Sedov

A theme evening was arranged on board of the Sedov to mark the 76th anniversary of the breakthrough of the siege of Leningrad. The cadets and crew members paid tribute to Leningrad residents, who had to endure 872 days of siege by Nazi troops.
The memorial evening was held in the Assembly hall of the Sedov. Cadets and their mentors gathered to talk about important historical issues. The 76th anniversary of lifting of the siege still evokes very vivid emotions. In early 1944, as a result of operation January Thunder, the siege of Leningrad was lifted. These days, all residents of the USSR felt the inevitability of the coming Victory.

Cadets Nikita Vakhrushev and Makar Vinogradov prepared a report on the history of besieged Leningrad and its people.
