KSTU Maritime Training Centre received international certification
The Russian Maritime Register of Shipping certified the quality management system of the Maritime Training Centre FSBEI HE “KSTU”.
The successful completion of the audit confirms that this structure complies with international standards, which undoubtedly increases confidence in the quality of the services provided and contributes to its further development.The Maritime Training Center's well organised educational process for seafarers` training and its capacity to maintain high quality standards in the long term are acknowledged by the Shipping Register's certification. The Register confirmed the effectiveness of the centre's internal processes and its focus on continuous improvement.
It should be noted that the interaction between the Shipping Register and KSTU, as the leading specialized university of the Federal Agency for Fishery, is fruitful and comprehensive. The cooperation goes beyond formal procedures and aims at real promotion of the Russian maritime industry development. It includes conducting the Day of the Register and regular participation of representatives from the Maritime Register in the state examination commissions of KSTU, which ensures the training of qualified personnel for the national fishing industry.

The only Maritime Training Centre in the Kaliningrad region operates as part of the BFFSA. It was established with the aim of providing education, special simulator and practical training for crew members of sea-going vessels and cadets of maritime educational organisations in accordance with modern Russian and international requirements in the field of ensuring the safety of navigation and the protection of human life at sea, as well as the certification of seafarers and watchkeeping, and to provide educational services at the level of international quality standards.
