Meeting of Captains in Ushuaia

During the meeting, the captains discussed the details of the forthcoming joint manoeuvring. Small vessels will put to sea at 18.00 msk, while the Pallada and Kruzenshtern will leave the port two hours later. The participants will meet at an agreed point of Beagle Strait and make a joint under-sail manoeuvring in the Atlantic Ocean on February 15.

The Sedov will join the participants at the place of maneuvering - in the southern part of the Atlantic Ocean. Afterwards, the yacht of "Marine practice" (Wind Dancer) will go to Antarctica to deliver the symbols of the expedition to the "Bellingshausen”station.

According to the plans the yacht expedition will last about 20 days along the route: Ushuaia (Argentina) – Beagle Strait – Drake Strait – King George island – Russian station “Bellingshausen” – Half Moon Island – British Port Lockroy -Ushuaia.​ The joint maneuvering and 200-mile regatta will be attended by the crew of the "Marine practice" on the yacht Wind dancer, as well as by the yachts Mon Coeur, Siberia and Xanadu.
