STS Pallada: a typical day

Pallada' round-the-world expedition has been going for a week. It is dedicated to the 200th anniversary of the discovery of Antarctica by Russian seafarers and the 75th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War. More than 2,000 nautical miles have been already sailed. The Master has already called all hands on deck 22 times.

Cadets and shipboys have passed the tests. They are getting used to routine on board. The ambient air temperature is +30 degrees, and the overboard water temperature is +27. Tropical clothing regime has been declared on board. Local fauna representatives pay visits to the Pallada.

November 11, 2019 was the day of training alarms, it was the first such experience for the cadets. The training was devoted to battening down the spaces, locating a sourse of ignition and extinguishing fire in an enclosed space, evacuating the injured people and wearing breathing apparatus "Iva". Ship abandon drill and collision mat application training were also conducted. After all-clear signal the training and drill results were analysed.

The crew is about to see exotic countries. The ship is celebrating Neptune holiday on December 1. The cadets and shipboys will be true seafarers upon crossing the Equator.
