Sports and athletic contest on the Sedov: medals, Cup and pie

The upper deck was used as an athletic ground. There were several sport venues prepared for different competitions: throwing a line into a lifebuoy, running with weights, rope climbing, halyard climbing. The crew members and all cadets who were not on duty came to cheer for the athletes.

When the last participant worked wonders of balancing and the stopwatch was stopped, it turned out that the team of Kamchatka State Technical University won this really cool sports contest. The team was represented by Andrey Minin, Maxim Kozlov and Vitaly Rygin. Their result was 8 min. 55 seconds. Andrey Minin was also the best in the individual all-around competition.

The winners received a Cup, medals and a festive pie made by ship's cooks. All hands on deck training was the finishing touch of this hard day.The cadets braced the yards, set middle topsail, foresails and and a host of other things.
