Sports and athletic contests on the Pallada

In the beginning of the year, the frigate crossed the southern tropic of Capricorn. The ambient temperature became much more comfortable, about + 30°C. So, it was a high time for sport competitions.
On January 5, the summer sport and athletic contests started on the Pallada. Picked teams of guys representing all three masts competed. The contests were held in various sports such as dip bar and press ups, chinups, tug of war and weightlifting. It was the first stage of a long competition.

In the afternoon of January 7, the frigate Pallada passed the Easter Island under sail at a distance of 12 nautical miles. She will call at the Chilean seaport of Valparaiso on January 28.
