Sedov called at Cape Town (South Africa)

Strong gusts of wind met the sailing ships of Rosrybolovstvo the Sedov and Pallada at one of the most important African ports – Cape Town.
The Sedov got moored as soon as the wind flattened. The next day the cadets and crew received guests of honor: the acting Consul General of the Russian Federation in Cape Town, Mr Yevgeniy Kosenkov, Military attache of the Russian Embassy in South Africa, Mr Vyacheslav Osipov, representatives of the Russian diaspora, the Mst of the Pallada Nikolay Zorchenko, members of the expedition "Date with Russia 2020" headed by Alexander Ilyin, and the captain of the yacht Chelyabinsk, Vladimir Gornov, who is making an expedition under the auspice of the Russian geographical society.

Sedov's Master Yevgeniy Romashkin and representatives of the delegation exchanged souvenirs. Then the delegation had a chance to take in an exhibition by Pavel Mikhailov in the Assembly hall. The guests were accompanied by the artist Yevgeniy Mashkovskiy who conducted an excursion. According to a good Russian tradition the guests were later asked to a table to enjoy chef's specialities.




Due to the epidemiological situation in the world, it was decided to cancel the "Open Board" day and a football match with a local professional team at the stadium built for the 2010 World Cup. Nevertheless the cadets of the Sedov and Pallada met in a tug-of-war competition. Sedov's team won but all the participants received memorable prizes and snow-white caps " Russian sails 2020 "from Sedov's Master Yevgeniy Romashkin. The match ended with an evening tea party.
