Sedov in Uruguay
Cadets and crew members got acquainted with the Uruguayan capital, its architecture, aesthetics and cultural life.
On the first day, a group of Sedov's cadets visited the Oceanographic Museum of Navy and the sailing ship Captain Miranda belonging to Montevideo Maritime school. This three-mast vessel was built at a Spanish shipyard in 1930. The crew consists of 33 people, including 13 cadets from the local college. It was very interesting to communicate with the Uruguayan crew in English. Each guest was given a souvenir -- Captain Miranda model in a bottle.
Representatives of the World Ocean Museum Pavel Matviets and Yevgeny Mashkovskiy visited the municipal Museum of art history-Museo De Historia Del Arte.
Later our cadets called on one of the highest points in Montevideo, mount El Cerro. They enjoyed the view of the city and saw a XVII-century Fortress housing the military historical Museum "Fortaleza del Cerro". Then the delegation went to the monument to Thaddeus Bellingshausen. The final excursion was to National Museum of Fine Arts.
The cadets and crew members also visited the local Botanical garden and Juan Manuel Blanes Museum of fine arts.
