Psychological training on the eve of the world expedition

The cadets have been informed about psychological factors of their first sea practice. It can be a hard time due to stay in the closed space, sensory deprivation, increased responsibility, strict watch cyclogram, a monotonous landscape, limited communication, long emotional tension. The needs for ordinary amenities, demand for good relationships with coursemates, necessity of the privacy of one's own mind as well as stressful  situations might lead to significant changes in emotional well-being.

Our cadets are at the age of maximalism, categorical judgments and statements, increased sensitivity to the assessment of their features, perfectionism, excessive emotionality, short temper, use of force solutions.

The training was aimed at increasing of tolerance in communication, team building, individual responsibility awareness, strengthening empathic processes, behaviour correction, emotional state and self-esteem balancing in conditions of sea practice. The training set a number of tasks such as role playing, identification and tolerant interaction tasks. Our cadets did the training well.
