The Ambassador on Board of the Pallada
On February 13, a reception for a delegation of diplomatic staff was organized on board of the ship moored in Ushuaia.
On February 13, there was a reception on Board for diplomatic staff of the Russian Embassy, including the Russian Ambassador extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Dmitry Feoktistov and representatives of the Embassy. The Governor of Tierra del Fuego Andres Dacari, the Vice-Governor Sonia Constance Renzone, the commander of the southern fleet, rear Admiral Emanuel Mathias Guizado, and representatives of local media also visited the vessel. An "Open Board day" was arranged for the local population and guests of Ushuaia. The cadets and crew accompanied the guests to the exhibitions on ship's deck.
The cadets and crew members also had a cultural immersion on shore. They visited Presidio Museum, the Maritime Museum, the Museum of the Edge of the World, dedicated to the history, flora and fauna of Tierra del Fuego.
On February 14, the frigate will head for Cape Town. During the passage the Pallada will join the barques Sedov and Kruzenshtern in the southernmost part of the Atlantic Ocean, where they will make a joint maneuvering and take part in a 200-mile regatta in honour of the 200th anniversary of the discovery of Antarctica by Russian seafarers.
