The Pallada is arriving in Chile on the 200th anniversary of the discovery of Antarctica

January 28, 2020 marks exactly two hundred years since the discovery of Earth’s southernmost continent Antarctica during the Russian circumnavigation of the world.

On this memorable day, the frigate Pallada is calling at the Chilean port of Valparaiso. The deck crew and trainees were busy with pre-arrival routine: painting, cleaning, chipping. These preparatory works took them two days.

Every evening there are rehearsals of cadets' onstage perfomance groups

and competitions in Conter Strike Global Offensive computer game. Chess competitions also go on.
