On February 14, at 11:00 am (ship's time) the frigate Pallada left the Argentine port of Ushuaia. Pallada's cadets lined up along the sides, and, to the sound of “Farewell of Slavianka" and loud shouts "Hooray!" she started sailing along the Beagle Strait.
Nikolai Zorchenko, Master of the STS Pallada reports, "She has been proceeding under sail for a day. The wind is up to 18 m / sec. The average speed of the frigate is 10 knots, and at times — more than 12 knots. We had a sleepless night because of heavy pitching and rolling. Now we are heading for the rendezvous point of all three vessels: South latitude = 42 degrees 40.0 min., West longitude = 54 degrees 06.0 min».
