Rosrybolovstvo
Cadets are getting accommodated on the Sedov and Kruzenshter
The first to arrive in Kaliningrad were the cadets from the St. Petersburg Maritime Fishing College, today they have been joined by guys from Astrakhan.
The cadets are going to take their sea practice on board. These guys were lucky enough to become participants of a large-scale joint sailing expedition of Rosrybolovstvo vessels which has already been started by the frigate Pallada. Heads of practice and boatswains have already conducted an introductory training and told the newcomers about the basic safety requirements. 10-day program is ahead. It includes classes on SOLAS, advanced fire fighting and first aid training. Totally, 230 cadets are going to have their sea practice on BSA RF vessels. Today, cadets from St. Petersburg have arrived at the Academy to get a marine uniform specially ordered for the circumnavigation, and visited the Historical and Cultural center of Maritime education at BSA RF. The guys are in great mood. When asked if they were ready for such a long voyage, they replied "Yes!" without a doubt.
The Head of the Historical and Cultural center Elena Antipina told the guests about the main milestones in the history of the institution and showed them the recently opened exhibition halls dedicated to the Sedov and Krusenstern. No doubt, after the circumnavigation of the world their collection will become even richer – it is planned that the ships will call at dozens of ports in America, Africa, Europe and Oceania. So, souvenirs and gifts are expected.
