Kruzenshtern in Las Palmas

During the period from April 1 to April 4, the  sailing training ship Kruzenshtern was staying at the port of Las Palmas. As soon as mobile connection appeared, the crew and cadets were able to contact their near and dear ones. For the sake of safety any shore leaves were strictly prohibited.
The barque moored at the fuel terminal in the morning of April 1. 400 tons of fuel were bunkered, it should be enough for several passages.

The next day, food supplies and drinking water were loaded. Due to the epidemiological situation, maximum precautions were taken for the entire crew. Each package was treated with a special antibacterial liquid. Masks and gloves were worn by each participant of the operation.

On the eve of calling at the port, on March 31, the traditional birthday party for cadets born in February and March was thrown. A birthday cake and a tea party are very significant when you are at sea.

Today, the vessel is leaving Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (Spain). She is heading for the Russian port of Novorossiysk.

Due to quarantine measures taken in a number of countries against the spread of SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus, calls to the ports of Casablanca (Morocco) and Haifa (Israel) were excluded from the route of the Kruzenshtern.
