Results of Montevideo stay

The historical and educational mission of Rosrybolovstvo training sailing vessels was discussed during the briefing of Master Trainee Viktor Nikolin with the port authorities of the Uruguayan capital.

During the whole period of stay the Sedov was open for visitors. More than 7,600 visitors had a tour of the ship and received tourist IDs. Cadets of Uruguay naval college were among the guests of the barque too.

Next to the Sedov the oceanographic research vessel Yantar was moored. The crew of the Yantar and a team of Uruguay naval college were invited to take part in sport competition. Thus, a real battle took place on the berth. Eventually Sedov's team won but guys handed their medals to the competitors from Uruguay as a gift.


After replenishing fuel, water, and food supplies, the Sedov left Montevideo and headed to the islands of South Georgia.
