A chess tournament has been launched on the Kruzenshtern. The winner will receive a certificate and an extra shore leave that can be spent in the port of Montevideo.
Four cadets were qualified for the final: Maxim Sokolov, Danila Blekte, Ilya Ovchinnikov and Alexander Vasiliev. The winner will be determined tonight.

By now, the barque has sailed more than half way to Montevideo - 643 nautical miles. Cadets and crew members are looking forward to seeing the capital of Uruguay, the wealthiest country of South America.

Uruguay is often referred to as "South American Switzerland" due to the level of country's economic advancement. The Kruzenshtern will call at Montevideo on February 1.
