The frigate Pallada is preparing for her round-the-world expedition
The repair works are continuing on board of the Pallada as we are approaching the round-the-world expedition to mark the 200th anniversary of the discovery of Antarctica by Russian seafarers and the 75th Anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War. The main stage of repair works is being carried out in Vladivostok floating dock.
The repair works are continuing on board of the Pallada as we are approaching the round-the-world expedition to mark the 200th anniversary of the discovery of Antarctica by Russian seafarers and the 75th Anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War. The main stage of repair works is being carried out in Vladivostok floating dock.By the moment vessel's fouling has been cleaned, priming has been completed, deck and engine mechanisms have been checked and the galley has been prepared for the installation of new equipment.
"We are getting ready to hull painting. All repairs and maintenance works are being carried out in accordance with the schedule. We are planning to leave the dock at the end of September. By this time the core work will have been over, "- said the Master of the TSS Pallada Nikolay Zorchenko.
Upon her leaving the dock the renewed yards will be installed on the masts. In mid-October the crew is having an inspection from Far Eastern branch of the Russian Maritime Register of Shipping.
The Pallada is leaving for the round-the-world expedition on November 1. She is coming back to Vladivostok on June 9, 2020.
Two more Rosrybolovstvo's vessels - the Sedov and the Kruzenshtern are also taking part in the round-the-world expedition devoted to the feat of Russian seafarers.
