At 02.30 the weather worsened abruptly: a heavy sea (wind force 17 m/s), a tropical shower, 4-meter waves restricted visibility to 1 mile. The ship has commenced shifting leeward with outcome yawing. The lookouts and helmsmen were at the peak of alertness. Despite these adverse weather conditions 3rd year cadets Vadim Savchenko and Ivan Zarubin were working in a confident and safe manner, obeyed the orders of the watch mate, so that the ship was following the course.
Mst Nikolay Zorchenko issued a commendation to the guys for their commitment and perfomance on board in extreme navigational conditions. There was an official oral acknowledgement of the commendation at the formation. Copies of the commendation were sent to the management of educational institutions.
The crew, cadets, cabin boys feel well. After all, the crew is about to see exotic countries. The ship is celebrating Neptune holiday on December 1. The cadets and shipboys will be true seafarers upon crossing the Equator The officership is confident that the tasks of successful participation in the expedition set by our state will be successfully fulfilled.
