Today, on January 15, at 8 a.m., the ship solemnly hoisted the largest tricolor and played the national Anthem of Russia in two hemispheres at once. The Sedov was proceeding along the equator line for an hour and sailed 8 nautical miles.

At 7.55 Mst E. Romashkin announced on the public addresser: "Attention to the crew and cadets! The vessel is proceeding with the heading of 270 degrees close to the Southern Hemisphere on the port side and Nothern Hemisphere on the starboard. Congratulations to the cadets and crew – we are at the Equator!»
