Mom's food on board

Many readers are interested in the menu on the Pallada. Ship's menu on all expedition vessels is very rich and diverse. Pallada is no exception.
The menu is made weekly in accordance with state standards established for fleet. A Chief Officer, a senior ship's doctor and a Chef are responsible for making weekly menu on board. The amount and quality of food is under the control of the Master.

The crew can always go back for seconds. There is a large variety of soups, side dishes are also available. Breakfast is at 7:30, lunch -- at 11:30 tea time -- at 15:30, dinner -- at 19:30. Everyone on board from the Master to a ship boy has the same menu.

Milk porridge or noodles, omelette or casserole, meat pie, cheese or meat sandwiches, tea or coffee are normally served for breakfast.

A typical lunch here consists of the first and second courses. Cabbage soup, borscht, pickle soup, fish soup, chicken soup is only a small part of soups prepared by ship's cooks.

The main course menu is also assorted. One can have meat, chicken, fish, stew, cutlets, pasta, herring and potatoes etc. Every day there are also cold snacks such as lard or pickles.

Bread and pastry are baked on board. Fruit, pastries, sandwiches, sweets, chocolate, cookies, waffles, gingerbread are served for tea time. For dinner guys have the first and second course again.
