Pallada in South Africa

The STS Pallada got moored in the port of Cape Town (South Africa) on March 16. Due to a heavy storm the frigate called at the port a day later than the it had been scheduled.
Despite the unavourable weather, the Pallada managed to cross the South Atlantic mainly under sail.

"Our frigate is now one of the safest places on Earth. During the passage from Ushuaia to Cape Town the ship was completely isolated in the ocean, no one on board was ill. Medical examination of the crew and body temperature control are performed twice a day due to the current epidemiological situation in the world. Local residents and guests of Cape Town will be able to see Pallada from the central embankment of the city, " said Mst Nikolay Zorchenko.

The ship called at Cape Town for planned replenishment of fuel and food supplies. The crew will also have a chance to rest.

During the stay at the port officials are expected on Board, the crew will go ashore to see the sights of the city. The frigate will stay at the port until March 19, and after that she will head for the largest city, main port and capital of Mauritius — Port Louis.
