19 000 people have visited the Kruzenshtern during three days of stay in the port.
The Kruzenshtern has entered Szczecin, Poland on the 3rd of August. Here in Szczecin the Tall Ship Races-2013 events are coming to an end and the results of race are being discussed. The Kruzenshtern came at 4th place among the 19 other vessels of the same class. Norwegian Statsraad Lemkuhl came first, while Тre Cronor av Stockholm from Sweden and Poland’s Fryderic Chopin came second and third, respectfully.
On Saturday the opening ceremony of the event has been visited by the president of Poland Bronisław Komorowski. From the board of Dar Molodezhi the president personally welcomed the citizens and guests of Szczecin.
Kruzenshtern’s cadets and crew went on city bus tours and attended the parties uptown. Also, the cadets took part in sports tournaments, winning the first prize in tennis.
On the 4th of August the cadets took part in the crew parade.
The vessel has been opened for visit, the photo exhibition has been opened on board. 19 000 people have visited the Kruzenshtern during three days of the vessel’s stay in the port.
Kruzenshtern has refilled her storages of fresh water and food. On August 5th the mayor of Szczecin Piotr Krzystek received captains of the vessels In his residency, then at 3 p.m. he came on board Kruzenshtern with a quite unusual mission. With the help of boatswains he conquered on of the Kruzenshern’s mighty masts, climbing 50 meters up.
The Kruzenshtern has left Szczecin on the 6th of August.
