The first stage of the Mediterranean Tall Ships Regatta is over.

Kruzenshtern’s cadets marched through Toulon as a part of crew parade
On the 28th of September thousands and thousands of people gathered on the streets of Toulon, France to become the spectators of an outstanding event – the parade of the crews. Hundreds of cadets from the vessels participating in the Mediterranean Tall Ships Regatta marched through the prospects of Toulon, while the citizens and guests of the city observed the events from the streets, balconies, rooftops and bridges.

The destination for the march was the awards ceremony where the winners of the regatta were honored. You can check the full list of Mediterranean Tall Ships Regatta results here.

Sports events were a huge thing during the regatta and the cadets of
Kruzenshtern received the prize as the best sports team. The trainees won the competitions in tug of war, kayak racing and baton.

 

After the awards ceremony the cadets attended the party.

During the stay in Toulon, the Kruzenshtern hosted the meeting of French educational institutions association representatives and the vessel’s management including captain Mikhail Novikov. The result of the meeting was the agreement between the association and the Kaliningrad Techincal State University on trainee exchange and accommodation of French cadets on board Kruzenshtern.

On the 30th of September Kruzenshtern has left Toulon as a part of sailing ships parade and headed to the port of Santa Cruz de Tenerife. The vessel is expected to call in the port on the 8th of October 2013.
